Break Free and Starve the Beast!
As "Western Civilisation" implodes, it could be wise to step out of it?
What would I know of your constant, daily struggle? - Me, perched here on my mountain, without rent or bills to pay, with my energy provided by the sun, without obligations to the state that indentures and enslaves you. Me, without debt or bank account. Me, who owns nothing, and so can be deprived of nothing?
Me, without money even to subscribe to your pay walled posts, what would I know of the many, many ways the Beast has its claws into you?
Well, maybe I do know just a little of what it means, and what it takes, to break free of that Beast. I haven’t always lived on the Outside, after all. I was caught up in the rat-race from birth, just as you have been. I just got out a few years ago, just half a moment before the insanity of an economic system dependant on “growth” (aka, exploitation), and a social system dependant on “progress”, became so stark-stirring apparent that only a politician or an establishment media whore could miss it.
I’ve been out long enough to know that nothing, not even wild horses, could drag me back in. My mission now is to encourage you to find your own way out, so that you too may find out what a deeply satisfying joy it can be to shake off the infantalising grip of the state.
Spot Gloria, the horse!
An old friend of mine used to talk about the “cost of convenience” before he passed on. He was right in identifying the trap which has so many of you participating in an obviously insane, destructive socio-economic system, running round in circles on your hampster-wheels and in your rat-runs. The undeniable convenience of hypermarkets and shopping-malls, of state “education” for your children, of mortgage and credit-card debt, of weekly garbage collection, of ready meals, traffic jams on beautifully surfaced roads, of escapism/entertainment, of “healthcare” and antidepressants… as you tread your wheels and chase those increasingly worthless $promissory£notes€ to support yourself - and support the psychopathic system of rule-by-billionaire.
Hopefully I can help to highlight some of the ways out, ways not always very apparent when you’re stuck on that “tina” treadmill.
The first thing that you need to realise is that you are already free.
You can choose: feed, sustain and maintain the Beast. Or, feed, sustain and maintain yourself, your family, your children.
Did I give the impression that it would be easy? Did I imply it would come without a complete reassessment of your value system? It’s not, and it will.
But ask yourself this: are you happy with things as they are, are you happy with the constant, unrelenting stress of making ends meet, are you happy having your children psychologically and physically abused by the state? Are you happy with the constant pressure to conform, to keep quite, to go-along-to-get-along? Do you trust the current “liberal order” to prevent the wars it sponsors, to end the genocide it funds, to forgo power and wealth for the benefit of all life, to respect the biology and the innocence of your son's and daughters?
Let’s face it, your life is full of stress, full of difficulty, full of unconscionable compromise.
What I’m suggesting here is that you trade the stresses, strains and anxieties of life within and obviously destructive economic, political and social system, being lorded over by an obviously insane political class, for the much more vital, much more exciting, much more rewarding challenges if living an authentic life governed by your own conscience. By doing so, not only will you help to starve the Beast, but you’ll help to grow the alternatives.
But let's do the easy stuff first: Let's identify the Beast.
The Beast is that thing that sucks all of your wealth, and all of the JOY out of your life. The Beast dictates that you must spend your life "earning a(n exclusively monetary) living" in order to live with some level of dignity and comfort, whilst it does all it can to prevent you from getting ahead. The Beast devours your whole life energy to feed it's bloated Corpus because it is a parasite. The Beast has you convinced that you can't survive without it. The Beast says that the "civilisation" it controles is the very best that we can achieve, albeit that we must keep on "growing the economy" via exploitation in order to maintain your “standard of living”. The Beast says “there is no alternative” to its bloated, bloodied, monstrous self.
The Beast is a liar!
Are you with me so far? Yes? Then let's talk about breaking free.
For inspiration (I hope) you can read about my own journey to freedom here: ,
Breaking Free!
Did you know that the first layer of complexity to present itself when Mankind settled to develop agrarian economic systems was the need to store grain and other produce? Granaries the size of palaces were built to meet that need. That’s a little factoid that I picked up at The Consciousness of Sheep website (which I
… but really, this isn’t about me, this is about you! How might you break free?
You're going to need faith in the Everloving Creator of the All of Everything, or in yourself if you prefer, to realise and understand that that which has always supported your very existence will continue to do so, regardless, and abandon your false sense of “economic/social security” that the Beast has convinced you is real, just as long as you stay within the fold.
Find the courage to embrace the unknown. Understand that you were never, ever in control of your destiny. Allow that the spark of Divinity, the small voice of Love at your heart, is your truest guide, and your greatest gift. Allow yourself to be lifted and guided by it!
Bare in mind that freedom itself is nothing other than full responsibility for all of your choices. Freedom is adulthood. Freedom is your opportunity to grow up, to come to “know yourself”- that one essential imperative, without which you will remain a “ward” of whatever nefarious actor chooses to take advantage of your immaturity.
As Osho says, to free yourself of the schizophrenia of living a life of contradictions and compromises, let go. Let go with the hands and the feet! Feel your heart racing as the natural upliftment of the Everloving swoops in to support your flight (or words to that effect). https://tarotx.net/tarot-card-meanings/osho-zen-tarot/two-of-clouds.html
Is your heart beating faster and stronger just at the thought of letting go, of getting out, of breaking free?
If so, let's calm it down a bit as we talk about some if the practicalities of breaking free? Where will you live, sleep, cook, eat? Where will your food come from, or the fuel to drive your engine?
First of all, I suggest you get as far away from any urban settings as you can. As the saying goes, take to the hills!
(If you are unable to do that, I've sketched out an alternative economic model in a previous post, which I’ll try to expand upon in the near future, but for now here's the link:
Leftist or Rightist? Is That The Best We Can Do?
I subscribe to the notions of national sovereignty and individual autonomy, yet I also recognise the broader family connections of my humankind. I champion self-reliance and deplore the dependencies cultivated by the welfare state, yet I support supporting those in need as well as free education for all.
But, to get back to the point of this article, and what I was saying, if you possibly can (and there are many ways) take to the hills, get out of Dodge, escape the concrete jungle!
Downsize your life so that it fits into some type of portable home: a motorhome/RV, converted van, a car and trailer/caravan, or just your car. Even a tent and backpack if you're young, fit and adventurous enough. Pick a direction and hit the road. Or reach out to someone already on the outside, discover what’s available and start to devise a plan. Maybe there's a community you feel might be right for you. My own experience suggests that very few communities are much more than stepping-stones in the right direction, but as long as you’re aware of that, then enjoy the process and the people. Maybe you have enough money to buy yourself and acre or two, with a cottage requiring your loving touch. Alternatively, check out the many, many opportunities for volunteering in off-grid setting wherever you may be. Search “work away”, “woofing”, or just “off-grid-living/volunteering” to give yourself and idea of the life that awaits you on the Outside.
Sell everything you don’t need in order to buy the bare essentials of a simplified life. Take the plunge, for the good of yourself, your family, the future and our shared existence.
Spread your wings and fly!
Trust me, you will meet people on the outside who will help you along the way.
Don’t fret that you won't find support. You will. Particularly since “the Covids” were unleashed, our numbers have swelled considerably. Enjoy the journey! Enter the mystery. Come to know God and yourself. Come to freedom and independence from the “economy stupid”. This is the beginning of an adventure the likes of which “civilisation” cannot comprehend. It doesn’t get more real, more existential, than conscious living, living within the realms of uncertainty, which is to say outside of the realm of certain taxation.
Get yourself a book, or use the internet, to discover the abundance of wild-food available to the forager. Learn about natural medicines and the benefits of a healthy diet. Consider your options when it comes to trading: maybe I need that beautiful piece of art you made, maybe you need a basketful of homegrown organic goodness from my garden?
If you have a source of income (via your substack, or Bitcoin, or maybe you have a small pension, or whatever) then of course it’s easier to break free. But that’s more for your peace of mind than any practical consideration. I know that sounds odd, but it’s something you’ll find out more about along the way… As together we grow a whole new, “food on the table”, practical economy.
Personally I don’t have a bean, unless you count my hubby’s less than €300 a month war pension that he so kindly shares with me and the animals. Yet we work hard and want for nothing. - I mean, have you seen where we live?!- That’s what I mean by having faith. Somewhere, somehow, something happens (to quote our spiritual teacher, and the man who chose for us our names/callings), and as long as I don’t, as is my habit, try to wrestle control of my circumstances into my own hands, ALL of our needs are met, in incredible abundance, by the mysterious force that has always and will always support our existence. Call it the Everloving Divine Creator of the All of Everything. 😉
There are already millions of us on the Outside, all around the world, including families with young children, middle-aged and young couples, singles, volunteers, marketeers, givers, sharers, party-goers, seekers, finders, healers, mystics, teachers and learners. Gardeners and burgeoning farmers. - I can promise you, you will not be alone in this journey. (Albeit that you may well be brought to the limits of your shattering ego, if that’s how far you choose to go!) Search for “off-grid communities and off-grid opportunities. If I’m the only person you know of living this life, and you want to ask what other pointers I might be able to suggest for you personally, then of course drop me a line.
Getting out is not necessarily an easy option, but it is a sane, not to mention incredibly fulfilling option. Carrying every drop of water you use, as dear Edward Skavsquat is discovering, gives one an appreciation of every drop of life-giving goodness. Life without the taken-for-granted convenience of the chemically enhanced liquid on-tap available in all modern homes, is better. And the water is sweeter, purer, cleaner. And sparklier. 💦
You could try “work away”, “woofing” and other forms of volunteering as a first step out of the system. In exchange for a few hours work per week you’ll be given food and accommodation, often in a very beautiful setting. - Of course, keep your wits about you and choose the people and the place that suites. - I hate to say this, but it’s a stone-cold fact, that I don’t know anyone who’s volunteered to work for jews that hasn’t been ripped-off by them in one way or another. Gentiles tend to be fairer and more honest. (If noticing that fact makes me an “anti-Semite”, then so be it.)
Even volunteering at you favourite music festival, you’ll meet like-minded people, and other opportunities may open up for you.
Before too much longer, we’ll be looking for work-away volunteers here on the mountain, just as soon as I have a large enough kitchen from which to feed you, and an indoor bathroom for you to shower in (although you’ll be just as welcome to use the outdoor facilities, which are quite special in their own right). Once all is in place so that I can accommodate you comfortably, we’re going to need some help installing our permanent water-supply/system, which will involve (re)clearing a path up the mountain to the spring, laying and burying the water-pipes (tubos), positioning water-deposits, etc. Beyond that, clearing fire-risk, planting trees, developing gardens, fixing up the ruin, and all kinds of other exciting possibilities open up. (Again, feel free to reach out if you’d like a taste of life on the mountain once the facilities are in place!)
The point is, that once you let go of your fears and insecurities, spread out your wings, catch the updraught, and take control of your existence out of the hands of the Beast, which is the system of social and economic control, a whole world of opportunities, adventures and personal growth may open up before you, the future for your children will brighten, and your diet will improve (probably).
Ultimately, you’ve got nothing to loose but the fear of the unknown. I hope this post has gone some way to helping you shed that fear.
Thank you for reading
With love,
Kali.
This is SO inspiring. Thank you!
Beautiful, I got out 6 years ago, and now live on land with a 650 sq ft retrofitted cottage I own outright. It is real, you can do it!
